SHOPPERS DRUG MART

Canadian pharmacy giant Shoppers Drug Mart has expanded its online medical cannabis platform to Canada’s East Coast.

As of today, residents of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island can go online on the company’s website to make their purchase, which will then be mailed to them.

Residents who don’t currently have the proper medical documentation authorizing the use of medical cannabis can get it by setting up a consultation online.

OCS

Cannabis consumers in Ontario might soon have a quicker way to get their legal cannabis. It might not be as speedy as texting your boy, but the Crown corporation could soon be better positioned to compete with the illicit market by offering same-day cannabis delivery.

The OCS has quietly launched a pilot program in Toronto, allowing certain consumers to get their cannabis faster.

Quebec’s Couche Tard

Massive Quebec convenience store firm Couche Tard, which owns 16,000 stores across every continent except Africa and Oceania, has long aimed to become a major cannabis player.

Société Québécoise du Cannabis (SQDC), Quebec’s Crown

Accordingly, Quebec’s stock of illicit cannabis has largely been sold through delivery services—and unlike physical dispensaries, cannabis delivery services are much harder to root out and evict.

So the Société Québécoise du Cannabis (SQDC), Quebec’s Crown monopoly cannabis retailer, is hoping to challenge illicit delivery with a delivery network of its own.
